Cookies and local storage

Necessary technologies and optional analytics

SaidSpark uses technical cookies and local storage for authentication, security, requested preferences and offline operation. These provide the service. Google Analytics is optional: its tag and cookies are activated only with Accept. Rejecting or closing the panel keeps analytics disabled. No advertising cookies or personalized ads are used.

Google Analytics cookies

After acceptance, _ga and _ga_YP2LV19RMR may distinguish browsers and consultation sessions. Their maximum lifetime is set to 180 days without automatic renewal on each visit. The tag records pages and viewed-saying counts and is not loaded before consent. It does not access account credentials, private notes or private favorites.

Choice and counting storage

saidspark-analytics-consent stores the choice, notice version and timestamp for 180 days for both acceptance and rejection. The old saidspark-cookie-notice acknowledgement is not analytics consent. After acceptance, saidspark-analytics-seen stores counted saying IDs in browser-tab sessionStorage, expiring after 30 minutes without activity, to avoid repeated scroll counts. saidspark-analytics-channel stores a reliable Android launch indicator in the same tab when available. Counting storage is not activated after rejection. An impression needs significant visibility for at least one second in an active tab, not merely downloaded data.

Choice and withdrawal

Accept and Decline have equal prominence. Reopen Cookie preferences from the top menu or footer to withdraw at any time. On withdrawal the page reloads to stop the loaded tag without signing out. Withdrawal does not undo past events. The choice is requested again on expiry or if browser storage is cleared.

Authentication cookies

saidspark.session_token, sometimes prefixed with __Secure-, identifies the Better Auth session and expires within 30 days. Temporary OAuth/state/PKCE cookies complete Google sign-in securely. saidspark_member and atlante_editor, where present, support earlier technical sessions. Actual expirations are set by the server and visible in browser settings. Cloudflare may use necessary abuse-protection cookies.

Storage and cache

atlante-language, atlante-vault, atlante-key and atlante-version store language and old private collections or sync information. saidspark-cookie-notice stores acknowledgement of this notice only. The service-worker cache stores app resources and public pages for offline use. Private API responses and account/reset callback pages are not cached by the service worker. Data remain locally until cleared or replaced.

Support invitation preference

The sessionStorage key saidspark-support-next remembers the feed position until which to postpone the support invitation. After the initial prompt at the twelfth card, it can appear again every 48 sayings. The preference lasts for the browser-tab session. The previous key saidspark-support-dismissed, if present, postpones the first prompt. It identifies no donor, confirms no payment and is not sent to the server. No Ko-fi resources are loaded before you choose to open the external link. That external service applies its own cookie and data policies.

Your controls

Browser settings allow you to remove cookies, site data and caches. Export unsynced collections before deleting private keys; otherwise they may become unrecoverable. Account favorites remain on the server until removed or the account is closed. Google services open when you request Google sign-in and follow Google’s notices. Optional analytics remain disabled unless you accept and can be revoked from Cookie preferences. Last updated: 2026-10-31.
